As a charitable organisation, the Foundation is governed by the provisions of the 1981 Trust Deed within which the geographical remit, for the purposes of funding being released, is defined as the former Burgh of Gatehouse of Fleet and the Parishes of Girthon and Anwoth.
The Trustees of the Foundation are pleased to consider funding applications from individuals or organisations within that geographical area which, in general terms, promote and encourage attractive, healthy and stimulating conditions of life, work and recreation.
The Trustees are particularly mindful of being able to assist the younger generation in their educational, sporting and recreational needs, including those who may wish to pursue higher or further education or to undertake vocational training. All requests for grants should be submitted using the email link below. The Trustees may also be prepared to consider applications for university/college related annual bursary awards.
The Trustees reserve the right to require that any assistance be given appropriate publicity.
The Trustees of the Foundation have absolute discretion concerning awarding grants.

The purchase of goalposts for the youth team of Fleet Star FC was funded by a grant from the Murray Usher Foundation.

The floodlighting at Gatehouse tennis court was part funded by a grant from the Murray Usher Foundation. The Foundation also assisted in meeting the costs of a means of disabled access to the tennis court.

The Murray Usher Foundation provided grant assistance in relation to the construction of the pavilion at the grounds of the Cricket Club.
